As a golf instructor or rehabilitation therapist,
you have can aggregate your experience to
assist a fellow enthusiast to learn or increase
his or her golf skill. The Resource Center’s
goal is to provide you with information that
will increase your capabilities to make the
game of golf more accessible for individuals
with disabilities.
If you are a golf instructor, the Resource
Center has several areas of interest. First,
the Resource Center has databases of programs
and other instructors that are currently teaching
golfers with disabilities. When reviewing
this section, we encourage you to enter your
own information, or knowledge of a program
with which you work, into these databases,
enabling us to increase the effectiveness
of this site. Second, the Resource Center
is a clearinghouse of teaching guides and
program curriculums for instructors. By researching
successful examples of teaching, you may learn
how to increase the effectiveness of your
instruction. This area is especially relevant
if you need information regarding how to teach
someone with a disability you may not be familiar
with.
If you are a member of any segment of the medical
community, the Resource Center encourages
you to take part in helping individuals with
disabilities improve their golf. Even if you
don’t have an extensive background in
golf yourself, your expertise in kinesiology
is critical when helping a person learn to
make golf swing. To assist you in providing
this service, the Resource Center has a listing
of programs for golfers with disabilities
contact. and a database of therapists already
involved with golf. They can be contacted
to ask more specific questions. We encourage
you to enter your information into our data
source so that we are able to not only grow
the size of this resource, but more importantly
better serve you and all users of this site.
